Offered is a beautifully detailed Pewter belt buckle featuring the
United States Army Air Corps
B-17 Flying Fortress

The "Flying Fortress" was a mythic bomber of World War II capable of defending itself
with 6 well placed machine guns (which gave rise to its knickname),
and the abilility to return its crew home despite being extensively damaged.

Fun Trivia

One of its first training missions in 1938 involved a flight of 3 B-17s
sent to find the Italian Liner Rex on the open ocean.
The purpose of the mission was to demonstarte its ability to provide coastal protection.

The group was directed by a young lead navigator Lieutenent Curtis LeMay.
What ever happened to him?

Measuring 3 1/2" x 2 1/4" it is designed for a belt up to 1 1/2" wide.
